I received the 2nd revision of the S401 case this past week and have been working with a professional Solidworks engineer to help tidy up my models and tutor me on the best practices for delivering a complete product to the vendor. Up to this point I've been creating drawings and files that I believe would benefit them but I got some good feedback on this latest revision that would help them streamline their fabrication process if I can learn to deliver them files in their formats. The vendor was using his on-site engineers to massage my files so they can use them and this was delaying their ability to turn around parts quickly. I'm hoping this both saves me money and time in the long run. This weekend I'm going to write up some of the technical specifications for the S401 and identify/resolve any of the known outstanding issues that need addressing for the next revision. I'm hoping that I can get by with only 1 more prototype, but I'm thinking 2 might be necessary. Without further adieu, here are the latest pictures. Sorry for the quality, I haven't had time to have a good photo session as I need a new backdrop.

Welcome to the website! I'm going to try to update this as much as possible but I have a few upcoming events that are going to severely restrict my time. Namely, my wife and I are expecting our third child - a girl - in the coming days. I may be able to update this blog from the hospital but I expect to sleeping will probably be a priority.
To Salvo Studio LTD. news: Valley Precision is working on the new prototype for the S401 and should have it ready to ship to me this week. I also submitted the S700 design to them for the first prototype already and expect it will be a few weeks before they have time to start on that project. When I get the next prototype, I will be updating this blog. For now, enjoy the site and contact me with any questions! |
